About Us

Working largely with local farmers and producers, uncanny offers artisan preserves that highlight fresh and local ingredients like honey, maple syrup, herbs, fruit and vegetables. Homemade in small batches, each week’s inventory changes with the season to maximize freshness and flavour. The result is an exciting array of preserves that feature the best of the season.

At the helm is Lindsay, who traded in the city life of downtown Toronto, Ontario for the slower pace of New Brunswick and the majestic views of the Fundy Shore. Lindsay and her family have spent the last four years experiencing the joys of fruit and vegetable gardening and preserving her harvest in an effort to live sustainably. We are passionate locavores and are always searching for better ways to bring uncanny even closer to home.

Please join us at our sister blog, 100 Mile Locavores, where we share recipes of eating locally with a particular focus on family friendly meals and living locally and sustainably during the difficult winter months.

New for the 2011-2012 Season!

Mid-September marked the last Saturday at the Sackville Market and the temporary retirement of my canning pot. I’m currently am sold out of every kind of preserve and will be using the fall to feather my nest as I anxiously await the arrival of my latest uncanny baby. I’m excited to keep the blog alive with new and creative preserves and how we’ll be using them thoroughout the winter. Stay tuned!
